Summer Blog 2017

Posted on: 23/06/2017

As we enjoy the scorching temperatures of the heatwave this will be the last WG6 blog before the new academic year starts in September.  Firstly we would like to congratulate our Year 12’s for getting through their first year at WG6, we are delighted that so many of you have fitted in well and taken on board all the responsibilities that being a 6th form student comprises of.  We have a fantastic Leadership Team, we are excited with the plans being made by the new Student Leadership Team.  It is also time to say a sad goodbye to our Year 13’s.  Many of them are in the middle of taking their A-level exams at the moment, testing but exciting times!!! Enjoy this latest blog.

YEAR 13’S LAST DAY

May 26th saw our Year 13’s say goodbye and attend a leavers assembly followed by a BBQ on the lower manor lawn.  The weather stayed kind and the BBQ was well attended with some delicious treats kindly served up from members of the Senior Leadership Team as well as catering staff.  The Leavers assembly was a time for reflection, laughter and sad goodbyes. Wishing our year 13’s all the very best for their future plans.  We look forward to hearing the results of your hard work on the 17th August.  Here is an extract of an email we received from a happy parent of a Year 13 pupil

“As Year 13 finish today I would just like to say a huge thank you to you all for the support and encouragement you have given my daughter.  My daughter will be leaving Wilmington having not only received an outstanding education but also amazing pastoral care from you all, for which we are truly grateful. We are very proud of the person she has become and thank you for the part you have played in this.  My daughter is sad to be leaving, fingers crossed she gets the grades she needs but whatever the future holds for her she will take with her many great memories from her time at Wilmington”
